New Mexican in Bloomington! This grocery store has authentic, fresh, ingredients, which are now used in their new restaurant on location... I have eaten here four times in the last week and absolutely enjoyed every menu item I tried! Great service, fresh, authentic food, and extremely reasonable prices.

Hidden gem! Food and service were great. Will definitely go back. We especially liked the Prickly Pear Margaritas. Only downside was no draft beer.

It may be hard to believe judging by the fact that this place is located inside a grocery store but this some of the best Mexican food I've had outside of Mexico!
It was so good, I had to go back the next day for more. I had the taco special: three tacos with rice and beans and a drink for $6. The carne asada is tasty and if you're there on the weekend you must try the carnitas and barbocoa.
If you're into muendo they have that too. When I asked what it was, they offered me a sample. Not my cup of tea but I was impressed by their helpfulness and patience with my broken Spanish.
Getting past the fact that the decor isn't Chipotle-esque may be hard for some but for those who can see past the modest setting to focus on the tasty tacos and the friendly and accommodating staff will be rewarded. The food is reasonably priced, authentic and delicious. Vamos! -

My family and I drove 60+ miles to this market/restaurant only to be so DISAPPOINTED in the worse way...the customer service in the restaurant part was so bad that it was uncomfortable , I actually think they didn't want us there . I have never felt this way as a paying customer before in my life......But then we went to another Mexican market/restaurant a few blocks over in 1416 S Main St, Bloomington, IL 61701 Carnecerira La Mexicana it was great ....

See my review under La Bamba, which used to be at this address as far as I can tell. In brief, good Mexican food in a small restaurant at the back of a fairly good Mexican/American grocery store (with butcher shop), with extra dishes like barbacoa and menudo offered on weekends (which doesn't include Sunday evening, from my experience). Lots of business seems to be carryout but there are about five tables if you want to eat in.
